I couldn't get hooked on the heroine, she came off way too brash and her actions didn't have good motivations in about the first half of the book.
She just never clicked for me.

The hero came closer to clicking, but he seemed so very bland until late in the book. Oct 17, Antoinette rated it liked it Shelves: romance-novels. At first, I hated the heroine and put the book down. Persevering, she transformed into someone likable -- although perhaps not in line with the character from the opening pages. The scenes and scenarios aren't bad; the writing is fine.
Worth a read.

Unsurprisingly it gave her itchy feet, and in her twenties she worked as cabin crew, determined to see the world. Marriage, children and cats meant a more settled life and gave her the opportunity to go back to 'school' and eventually teach at university. The 19th century was her special period so when she began writing herself, the novels had to be Regency romances.
